Feature Films of 2020

By Jillian Bond, Staff

2020 is going to be full of amazing films that will bring us back to our warm childhood days or make us jump out of our seats. With films like “The Conjuring,” “Scoob” and another “Legally Blonde.” All of these films will most likely be the favorites of this year. Here is a description of some of the most exciting movies coming out the year!

Gretel and Hansel

Remember as a kid when you would hear the story of two siblings who got lost in the woods and found a witch’s house full of food and sweets that they ate until they couldn’t eat anymore? Well, this story is back and scarier than ever. I personally have always been creeped out by this story, but this new movie brings this tale to an extreme. This film tells the darker, more disturbing version of this story to give viewers a thrill that takes them back to their childhood days. This movie came out in late January.

Mulan

Speaking of our younger days, when Disney was constantly releasing new movies that defined our childhood, a live-action version of “Mulan” is coming out in March for us to feel like kids again. As we all know, this movie is about a young girl in China that leaves her family to go fight in the war, but women aren’t allowed to fight, so she masquerades as a man. Through this, she is able to show her true strength and potential as a female and empower women all over the world. This will be out on March 27th.

A Quiet Place: Part II

We all raved about the first movie, and now the next one is coming out in March. With our favorite Hollywood couple, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, we get to enjoy (and be scared) of another amazingly directed movie. With this sequel, we get to follow up on the family after their fight with the monsters and some flashbacks to the first invasion of them. We hope this movie will be as exciting, riveting, on edge and hair-raising as the first one. Shh, don’t make any noise.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Have you ever hoped that you would end up being the child of a Ghostbuster? Well, in this new “Ghostbusters” movie two kids move to a new town to soon find out they are the grandchildren of the original Ghostbusters. This film will feature the amazing Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Bill Murray. This throwback comes out in July. Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
