Next week is fall break, and while some people go out of town, a lot of people stay home. Many of these people have no idea what to do while they’re at home and just end up watching Netflix all day, but actually, there is a lot to do at home. For instance, you can go to a haunted house, go apple picking, or go to a pumpkin patch, and that’s just the beginning. There is so much that you can do while at home.

  1. Indy Scream Park

Indy Scream Park is a great place to go during the break. Especially with Halloween coming up, it really gets people in the spirit. It opens at 7 every night and you could go with some friends who stayed behind too.

  1. Pumpkin Patches

It is fall, so you might as well do something within that theme. Pumpkin patches are super fun with their tractor rides and apple cider. Some even have animals you can see, and they’re adorable. Pumpkin patches are always a great idea, so just find one nearby and go.

  1. Decorate your house for Halloween

Get your house really put together for Halloween. If you don’t have all the materials you need, you can DIY them, and then you’re doing even more things to take up time. Just make your house feel really Halloweeny.

  1. Volunteer somewhere

A lot of places have volunteer openings, such as Gleaners, and going to volunteer is always a good idea. It will make you feel very productive too.

  1. Go to a cool place nearby

TopGolf is a super fun place to go, and it’s not even that far. You don’t even have to know how to golf to play and the food is awesome. Or you could go to Ikea, which is right next to it and just look around. And if while you’re in Ikea you decide to redecorate your room, which could be fun, there’s a Homegoods pretty close too. You could also go to the zoo, I prefer the Fort Wayne Zoo to the Indianapolis Zoo, so if you really have time, you can go to Fort Wayne.

  1. Download Duolingo

If you just want to stay home, this way you can stay home and learn a new language. To be fair, I got bored of it pretty fast because it’s more of a once a day thing, but maybe you won’t. And if that doesn’t work out for you either, you should get Wordscapes. It’s super fun, you should try it.

  1. Watch TV

You can’t do something every single day, sometimes you just aren’t in the mood. So, watch HGTV or something on Netflix and just take a break.

  1. Go on an adventure

Do something like climbing Hoosier Hill, or go visit the world’s biggest ball of paint which is in Alexandria. Those could be fun, and they make a good story.

  1. Go to Holiday World

Again, since Halloween is coming up, just go visit the Halloween section and don’t leave. Unless you really want to, some of the fun rides are in other places around the park.

So, while there isn’t the most to do in Indiana, you can make anything fun if you try hard enough. You don’t even have to have all your friends home, you can go with your family, or just by yourself. Just have fun with it, and then you’ll have a great break.
