Setting Up for A Great Season

The volleyball team hopes to work together this season and help each other win as many games as possible.

“Our volleyball team is determined to play as one team and not as individuals. We obviously want to win as many games as possible and by working together we can achieve this goal,” Isabel Metzger, freshman, said.

The team believes that if they work hard in practice and keep each other motivated, they will be able to accomplish anything this season.

“This year I believe our team can go far, we have to maintain a balance of intensity and execution. I hope that we can continue working hard all season, in order to win the rest of our games,” Natalie Smith, JV defensive specialist and junior, said.

While the volleyball team has a strong defense and outstanding hitters, their main focus is to play as a team this year.

“Teamwork is a big factor in volleyball and it’s super important to always be able to count on your teammates to do the right thing and play as hard as they can,” Lauren Latka, varsity libero and senior, said.

The players have seen their hard work from practice pay off in many ways.

“We’re working on all aspects on the game each practice, mentally and physically. It’s helped us in some really tight games where there is a lot of pressure on each point,” Taylor Sorg, varsity middle hitter, and sophmore said.

The season is off to a good start, and the girls hope to keep up their hard work.

“I think varsity is performing really well so far. We are still learning how to work together, play as a team, and gain confidence,” Latka said, “It’s pretty cool to see how much improvement we are still capable of.”

These players are motivated by each other, and the game. This season they will continue to advance individual skills, and work as a team.

“We just need to believe and have confidence in each other,” Sorg said.
